MADDALENA FERRETTI
Maddalena Ferretti is a PhD architect. She holds a Post-graduate II level International Master in Architecture | History | Design and an International Ph.D. in Architecture, Landscape and Urban Design. She is Researcher and Lecturer at the Chair for Regional Building and Urban Planning, Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Sciences, Leibniz Universität Hannover (Germany) since 2012. She is also professional architect in the field of architecture, urban design, urban planning and landscape design since 2004.
Profession and research are closely integrated in her career. She carried out in parallel academic collaborations (continuously since 2003), participations to design competitions in architecture, urban design and planning, landscape design (often awarded in national and international competitions) and professional opportunities related to urban transformations in sensitive areas.
Main topics of research and design are: transformation and reuse of abandoned and neglected urban materials; urban landscapes’ transformations linked to sustainable development and governance of territories; transformation and development of rural-urban contexts, ecological recycling of open spaces in urban and peri-urban contexts. Her scientific and professional activity has produced attendances and specific contributions to conferences and workshops at international level, as well as teaching activities as lecturer and guest critics in different European Universities. Her work, as scholar and professional, has been published in national and international magazines and journals.
